Retail Scoop: New Releases for the Week of November 17, 2009

In affiliation with Amazon.com, TripleChat is happy to bring you the new releases each week for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. We bring what titles are coming out, all the details of who is behind the title, as well as a product description (courtesy of Amazon.com).

Along with new game releases we will also highlight the top five bluray releases each week that we feel will best suite movie and TV show fans alike.  Obviously opinions will differ but this is our site dang nabbit so our opinion will be heard! This is region specific to North America.

This Week: This week we see a lot more big names than last week in which we saw just one.  Fans of Assassin’s Creed are in heaven this week with two new games – Assassin’s Creed II for PS3 and Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines for PSP.  ACII hosts a brand new protagonist, where as Bloodlines continues the adventures of Altair.  Joining them this week is the return of Kratos in remastered form as both God of War I and II are remastered for the PS3 in high definition and with trophy support in the GoW: Collection.  Sackboy climbs onto the PSP this week with the PSP version of LBP which will host its own brand of DLC as well as creativity.

Tony Hawk returns in expensive form with a brand new motion skateboard (that is required for the game), so if you have the $120 and the love towards skateboarding games – this might be for you.  Rounding out the big releases is the second game in the Lego Indiana Jones franchise.  The first one was surprisingly fun and well produced – and the second one continues that with adventures in the latest movie as well as more reprises of the original trilogy.  We have some other games this week but they are rather unknown but check them out.

On the Bluray front we have Star Trek finally hitting high def this week.  The only other new release featured is the made-for-TV movie It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas.  The TV show is hilarious so it is definitely a recommended pickup for fans.  In catalog releases the big one this week is Gone With the Wind.  Warner Bros. continues their dive into the big classics as they did with Wizard of Oz, but this time in the extremely long, but well put together Clark Gable drama.  Fight Club joins the catalog list this week – the cult classic featuring Ed Norton and Brad Pitt hits high def.  Finishing up this week is the complete series of the HBO epic, Rome – which is highly recommended.
